'E' in the 100 Days of Practice Challenge F.A.M.E qualities for Parents stands for Encouragement.
One of my kids said that she would like to hear me say "You're chillin' like a villain!" whenever she did something well.
Another child asked to hear "I Likey that you're Nike!" (Grecian Goddess of Victory)
It made me think that I should have invited them to share their perspective of what they heard as encouragement, beyond me telling them "I like how you..." or "Your playing made me feel so..."
What words or acts do you use to encourage your child during practice?
